So if you know how to do something, it may be faster to get AI to do it and then verify/correct the work instead of just doing it.
\n
But it often requires nontrivial work upfront to provide detailed directions and context, which is wasted effort if it isn’t able to produce satisfactory result and you have to do it yourself.
\n
And if there isn’t a good, and ideally automated, way to verify the work it does, that can take more time than you think, and the work can be more annoying to do. Then I spun up a venv with uv so I could test it out without messing with my normal llm installation and installed my local, modified, copy of llm-mistral
\n
\n

uv venv .venv-llm-dev

\n

source .venv-llm-dev/bin/activate

\n

uv pip install llm

\n

.venv-llm-dev/bin/llm install -e .

\n
\n
And it worked first try
\n

.venv-llm-dev/bin/llm -m voxtral-small -a clip.mp3

\n
\n
What I would say about vibe coding this kind of minor edit or tweak is that about half the time it works first try, and about half the time it doesn’t, and if they fail I usually just do it myself instead of doubling down.
\n",
